Actualidad en el diagnóstico desde urgencias hasta el manejo quirúrgico de apendicitis en niños

Resumen


Objetivos: Identificar los avances en el diagnóstico de la apendicitis aguda en niños, teniendo en cuenta las herramientas más comúnmente usadas y su real efectividad en el diagnóstico en el servicio de urgencias a partir de una revisión sistemática.

Método: Se realizó una búsqueda de artículos con las palabras clave en la base de datos de PUBMED, seleccionando la mejor evidencia disponible en la actualidad de apendicitis en niños desde su ingreso a urgencias hasta el manejo quirúrgico indicado.   

Conclusiones: El diagnóstico de apendicitis aguda en pacientes pediátricos aún en la actualidad sigue siendo un desafío, por lo cual se ha buscado estandarizar y crear protocolos en los cuales se disminuya el subdiagnóstico y se disminuya la probabilidad de posibles complicaciones y de esta manera, mejorar la mortalidad y la morbilidad en pacientes pediátricos.
